LCA Receives Full ACCREDItATION
LCA is a fully accredited academy through the Association of Christian Schools International. This accreditation, Early Education, Elementary School and Secondary School, is recognized by the Texas Education Agency. In November, a team of four educators, led by Mr. Ed Thomas, studied our school, looked over all of the paperwork associated with the school and interviewed teachers, parents and students before giving the maximum length of accreditation available to schools. LCA is accredited for five years, with a one day visit at the two and one-half year mark.
By taking this step, LCA became "real" for many people of Llano County. The school was opened six years ago and a secondary school was added four years ago. According to Mr. Ed Thomas, "LCA has been on the fast track to accreditation." The school has a staff of twelve teachers, one secretary and one teacher's aide. The student numbers have fluctuated from year to year, with 75 students at the present time and looking to grow in coming years.
Dr. Smith, the Headmaster, continues to strive for the highest standard in education for all students. When students do not perform at the level of skill he/she is capable of plans are developed with parents and the student. In doing this LCA becomes an extension of the home and the parents become a partner in their child's education. This is invaluable to the school as each child is developed to their full potential.
Because LCA does not take state or federal education dollars, LCA can maintain the high standard of performance while using Christ-centered curriculum in all subjects. The students can focus on skills they are weak in while fine-tuning skills.
Congratulations to Dr. Smith, the teachers, the Board of Directors, the students and parents for a job well-done.
First Day of School 2017-2018, Secondary Students
Llano Christian Academy is a non-denominational school that seeks to provide a Christ-centered, Biblically integrated education with a focus on academic excellence. Anchored by a highly qualified and outstanding staff of teachers, LCA is able to provide an educational experience through which students gain knowledge, critical thinking skills, and problem solving skills.
Llano Christian Academy invites you to learn more about why LCA is a special place for learning and growing in academics, faith, and fine arts.
Be sure and look around the website to learn more about what LCA offers your child and family, then feel free to schedule a campus visit.
Applications and other documentation can be found here in the admissions section.
The Future of LCA
The success of Llano Christian Academy is illustrated in part by the rapid growth of its student body. Since its opening in 2011 the enrollment in the school has more than tripled.
Although we have been graciously given a building for our new campus in Llano, we continue to struggle with the sustainability of LCA for the future.
We have an established capital campaign to aid for continued growth and hopefully for a gymnasium and separate secondary building in the future. If you'd like to donate to our capital campaign and find out how your donation will be matched 100%, please contact us at (325) 247-4942.
