Rozzana Hebert - Early Education Aide

"I am a very quiet person!"  This needs to be said so if you were to meet me, you wouldn't be surprised!  There are a  few things I know about myself - I love spending time with my family. Even with my lack
of skill, I like to plant, play games with my husband, and watch television and movies with my kids.
I enjoy helping my son, Cale, with his school work and play pretend with my daughter, Rita.  I also love to read Rita stories.  One thing you can be certain of is I will do my best at any job anyone asks me to do...  Llano Christian Academy has given me the opportunity to do what I love to do- work with children!

Judy Pierce - 1st Grade

I retired after 30 years in public education and joined the staff at Llano Christian Academy.  Yes, I've started my 31st year and still love coming to work each day to teach children.  I have lived my entire life in Texas.  I enjoy the lifestyle that goes along with small town living.  My husband is employed as San Saba's County Agent.  In my spare time I enjoy family time, church, church activities, horseback riding, cooking, reading and walking with my dog.  His name is Hossy Bear and he is a Welch Corgi.  It is my privilege this year to be the first grade teacher with five precious boys.

Teaching children is an awesome responsibility and I take the challenge of teaching the academics needed to be successful and helping to build a Christian foundation for each child seriously.

Sidonie Thornton - 2nd Grade

As a sixth generation native of the Valley Spring community, it is great to be back home on my family's ranch at the bottom of Smoothin' Iron Mountain.  During the twenty-four years of being from Llano, I enjoyed teaching Language arts and coaching speech for Cherokee ISD.  While in Cherokee, I also worked with the youth creative ministry team at Cherokee FBC.  We ministered in neighboring communities and conducted mission trips on bother sides of Texas/Mexico border.  What a joy to see students passionately tell others about Christ while using their God-given talents!

I then had an opportunity to teach creative ministry, theater arts, and language arts at the Christian school in Brownwood.  What a fun five years- dinner theatre plays, mission trips, creative ministry competition, public school outreaches!  However, I knew it was time to return to the land I love and spend more quality time with my children's families.  After all, I was now a Nana of five grandchildren.  The "icing on the cake" came when Dr. Smith invited me to join the family at Llano Christian Academy!  I love being able to teach and minister in this amazing school!

Linda Duggar - 3rd - 4th Grades Math & Science
I was born and raised in Llano until graduating from Llano High School. I attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood. with a degree in elementary education, and spent the next 38 years living in the Houston area.  I taught in various school districts in various grades from 3rd to 6th for 28 years.    I then decided to get a Masters degree from Sam Houston State University which allowed me to become a school administrator and elementary principal for the next 12 years before retiring.  After coming back to Llano, I had the privilege of working for LCA when it opened in 2011. Eventually, I retired again until returning this year when I felt the Lord was calling me back to LCA.

After being a teacher and administrator for over 40 years in education, I find teaching at LCA very refreshing, rewarding and challenging from time to time.  The smaller class size along with the Christian-based atmosphere has enabled me to find excitement as I watch the students progress academically and spiritually. Also, I have the flexibility to allow students to work and progress at their individual paces.  Having the ability to individually monitor and assist students, I can build the students' self-concept  and self-confidence.

The best part about being at LCA compared to public school is having the freedom to pray, to speak freely about God and the Bible, and to instill Christian values in the students.  God has truly blessed me by allowing me to teach at LCA.

Autume Patterson - 3rd - 4th Grades English/Language Arts & Social Studies

My name is Autume Patterson. I have 3 wonderful children of my own, and my beautiful teenage sister. My husband, Darrell Patterson, brought me here to Llano about 10 years ago. I have an Associates Degree and am currently working on a Bachelor's Degree.

Learning is one of my  deepest passions, along with teaching. My favorite food is Lasagna. My favorite season is Fall and Winter. I love to watch the colors of the season turn and get cozy for winter. Teaching has been a dream for a very long time. I have taught in several different settings.

I am very glad for this blessing and opportunity that has presented me here at Llano Christian University.

I am Jennifer Berry!  I am so excited to be a part of the LCA Family!

My husband, Ricky, and I have been married 10 years this December.  We are the parents of two beautiful boys, Bryan and Jacob.  Our family is brand-new to Llano.  We have already fallen in love with this beautiful area surrounding us.  We are ready to see how God blesses the new chapter in our lives.

Thank you for allowing me to work with precious children everyday in a Christian environment.

Elizabeth Previe - 5th - 8th Grades English & History

God began my journey in education at Hardin-Simmons University where I received my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education) with a Reading Specialization in 2001. In 2002, God called me to serve as a Missionary/ English Teacher at the Amman Baptist School in Amman, Jordan. Upon returning to the United States in 2004, I taught 10th and 12th grade English in my hometown, Lake Dallas, Texas. I then moved down to 5th grade and loved it. I resigned to stay home with Hannah when she was 2 years old, and we began Homeschooling her Kindergarten year.

God moved my family (husband, Brian, and daughter, Hannah) to Llano in 2016 and to LCA in 2018. I am so excited to be back in the classroom and a part of the LCA family! I love to watch what God does in and through the lives of my students each year! My heart’s desire is that they will know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and grow stronger in their faith each day.

When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends, scrolling through Pinterest, crafting, and participating in church activities.

Rita Boultinghouse - High School Science

I am going to take you on a journey through my life at LCA.  The summer of 2011 started off with me retiring from Texas public education after 32 years of service. The fall of 2012 found me being guilted by a friend into doing weekly science labs for the newly opened Llano Christian Academy. Turns out that I enjoyed bringing my favorite labs to the kids at LCA and watching their faces light up with enthusiasm and amazement about the wonders of science in God’s creation.

During the summer, Dr. Alice visited with me about coming to LCA to be the facilitator for the newly formed 7th and 8th grade. It sounded like a great opportunity to continue working with young people, but this time in an environment where you don’t have to worry about repercussions from giving God the glory for His amazing work in the life and earth sciences. It is a blessing to be in an environment where devotionals, scripture reading, praise, and prayers are daily observances.

Fast forward to the 2019-2020 school year.  I am working every Monday and Wednesday, teaching Math and Science classes, Yes, LCA is just in my blood.  Love the students, fellow teachers and the ability to incorporate a Biblical worldview in my teaching.  The Lord truly blesses those who are faithful to His calling.

Amy Theiss - High School English / Language Arts & History

I am excited to be back in my hometown of Llano, and thankful for the opportunity to teach students in a loving Christian environment like LCA.  I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Hardin-Simmons University, and later earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M.  I have taught in both the College Station and Waco areas.

I have been married for twelve years and have three precious children that keep us always on the go between church, 4-H, and sports.

It is a privilege and a blessing to teach high school social studies and English at LCA, and I look forward to a wonderful year!

Peggy Najar - High School Dual Credit College Classes Coordinator & Librarian

My husband, Larry, and I became involved with LCA at the very beginning of the school when it was still just a thought. “Mr. Larry,” was the first person most of the students saw each morning, before his passing in 2018. We have two children and four wonderful grandkids.  One of our grandsons, Tristan, graduated from LCA in the second ever graduating class of 2018.

After retiring from Llano Independent School District in Spring 2015, I looked at the possibility of working at the school my family adores.  There was a job just for me, or so Dr. Alice Smith said!  I work with the secondary students enrolled in dual credit college courses.

Llano Christian Academy has been such a God-given gift in our lives.  I feel so blessed and honored to be on staff this year.
